We move on fear-
Fueled and far-ranging, we
Traverse roads and groves
Of living
On fear.
Our anatomy is wired for this.
Our development, a work in progress,
Glued together by fear.
Our wealth is held by fear.
Our strengths,
Our weaknesses, too.
In the fire of our days
We feed the rising flames
With fear-
A discovery our poor
Selves take to heart,
Depressing our souls,
Inhibiting any journey where
We should otherwise partner with
Hope,
That other, oft-cited master.
